CENTER FOR DISCIPLINARY INNOVATION

The Center for Disciplinary Innovation (CDI) hosts and sponsors exploratory courses as a way to incubate new initiatives and programs, from undergraduate minors and Core sequences to graduate tracks to research centers. Each course is co-taught by two faculty and each faculty member receives full credit for teaching the course. Past seminars have been exclusively at the graduate level but starting in AY22-23 offerings may also be at the undergraduate or mixed grad/undergrad levels. Teams receive a $1,250 stipend for course-related purposes; if needed, supplementary funds are available on application.

Teaching in the CDI is restricted to UChicago faculty. At least one faculty member from each proposed team must have affiliation with the Humanities Division.
